Optometrist
Dr. Heather Jones is a native of West Michigan, growing up in the nearby village of Saranac. She received her undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in Detroit and attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. As a student, she was elected to the prestigious Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Jones was involved in many extracurricular activities during her education. She was involved in Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity, where she traveled to Mexico and Jamaica to provide free eye care to those in need. Dr. Jones served as the President of the Optometric Private Practice Club as well as the Treasurer of the Lions Club at her school. She actively volunteered at events such as the Tennessee Special Olympics and Remote Area Medical Clinic. She is an alumna of Alpha Gamma Delta, where she also served as President during her undergraduate studies.
Dr. Jones is excited to get involved in the community and meet new people. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages. Dr. Jones provides annual comprehensive examinations, contact lens fits and pre/post-operative care. She treats many medical eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease, as well as red eyes. She participates in the InfantSEE program, which provides free exams to infants 6 to 12 months of age, and is a member of the Michigan Optometric Association.
Dr. Jones resides in Lowell and is married to her husband Lance, who is a Principal within Caledonia Community Schools. Together, they have 2 sons, Lincoln and Hudson. In her spare time she enjoys reading books, camping in the summer, riding horses, playing with her kids and dogs, and binge watching Netflix.
